2018 MK Pinot Noir
2018 MK Pinot Noir
MK, named after our proprietor Michael Karah, is a wine that we refer to in our tasting room as “The Founder’s Blend.”
The grapes for this wine were harvested the second week of September and fermented 100% whole-cluster, which helped us achieve a partial carbonic maceration.
Offering a nose similar to that of a mulled wine, our estate grown grapes exhibit a spiciness we most closely associate with the wafting aromas of the European Christmas markets.
The palate exposes a layering of cherry, dried cranberry, and toasted pecans, with a lingering aftertaste of white pepper.
This wine displays an impressive balance of acidity, minerality, and a silky mouthfeel.
This is a very approachable Pinot Noir and presents itself as a staple table wine.
Double Gold medal at the 2020 The Fifty Best California Pinot Noir wine competition in New York.
